A Healthier Campus: UHS Unveils New Enhancements

USA NEWS – University Health Services (UHS) has announced significant upgrades to its facilities and services, aimed at improving the health and well-being of students. The recent renovations and additions to the Student Health Center (SHC) are designed to create a more welcoming, comfortable, and supportive environment for students.

One of the most notable changes is the complete renovation of the SHC lobby. This central space has been transformed into a more inviting area, featuring new seating, tables, check-in kiosks, and peer greeters. The goal is to create a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for students seeking healthcare services.

The physical therapy suite has also undergone a major overhaul. The updated space boasts modern equipment, an open layout, and new gym flooring, providing a more conducive environment for student rehabilitation. Marc Lintal, director of physical therapy, expressed his enthusiasm for the renovations, stating that they will enhance patient experiences and allow staff to provide even higher-quality care.

In addition to these physical improvements, UHS has introduced several new services to support student well-being. One such addition is a private lactation room, conveniently located in the community health hallway. This fully equipped space provides a comfortable and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff who need to express breast milk.

Recognizing the growing issue of food insecurity among students, UHS has also launched the Paw Pantry. This initiative aims to provide essential items such as grab-and-go foods, toiletries, laundry necessities, and paper goods to students in need. The Paw Pantry is located in the health hallway on the second floor of the SHC and serves as a valuable resource for students facing challenges.

These enhancements to UHS are a testament to the university’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services to its students. By creating a more welcoming, supportive, and accessible environment, UHS is empowering students to prioritize their health and well-being.
